ITS Fiber Builds on Managed Wi-Fi Experience to Offer Whole Home Wi-Fi; Eyes Smart Home Devices

ITS Fiber has been providing telecommunications services in South Florida for more than 80 years. One of the early adopters of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology in the state, ITS now provides high-speed internet, voice, DirecTV video, and maintenance plans to approximately 2,000 residential and small business customers.

Internet packages are all symmetrical and start at 200 Mbps, with options for 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps. ITS Fiber has also fully embraced Managed Wi-Fi and is now offering Whole Home Wi-Fi with premium technical support services powered by Calix GigaCenters, 804Mesh satellites, and Calix Support Cloud.

While ITS is leveraging these solutions to drive revenue and lower costs today, going forward they expect to be a leader in the adoption of smart home devices. Currently, they are building a strategy that will seem them potentially selling smart home devices which, Jeff Leslie, CEO of ITS Fiber, believes will also drive the need for increased (symmetrical) speeds, more bandwidth, and better Wi-Fi coverage in the home. In response, ITS plans to position itself as the expert on smart home products in their service area.
