Was 2017 Really the Year of NG-PON2?

We started out the year believing that 2017 was the year of NG-PON2. And yes, NG-PON2 made great strides towards deployment over the course of 2017. 

At the beginning of the year, optics vendors were still discussing how they would even achieve compliance and there were concerns that it wouldn’t be cost effective to deploy. However, as we embark on 2018 and look back on 2017, it is clear things have progressed significantly.
