What if you could have a network engineering expert show you, on demand, how to perform common operational tasks on your Calix systems including provisioning, configuration and troubleshooting? The Calix Technical Assistance Center (TAC) has been producing a series of technical self-help videos to do just that. The result is TAC TV; a collection of short video tutorials to help increase your access technology IQ, and where you can get visual “how-to” demonstrations on completing various tasks and troubleshooting tips with your Calix solutions. I asked Kent Law, Director of the Technical Assistance Center and head of programming for TAC TV, how this will help our service provider customers.
“Our goal as a services organization is to help customers get the most out of their Calix solution, and while we have a considerable amount of detailed documentation to support our customers operationally, sometimes watching how something is done in a short video helps solidify the concept better.”
Kent asked his team to take an analytical, voice-of-customer approach to identify the issues that come up a lot in their conversations and turn those into short informational videos. Now, over 60 video tutorials are already available, with many more in production that can help customers with questions on AXOS, EXA, Gigafamily products, SMx and CMS, and more.
Customers today want to use multiple avenues to get actionable information and expert assistance fast to do their jobs more effectively. The self-help videos in TAC TV can be accessed conveniently online by field technicians, NOC engineers, and support specialists from anywhere and at any time.
