Driving G.fast to the Mass Market Through Interoperability and Certification

Service providers are under considerable pressure from subscribers and competitors alike to deploy the latest and greatest Internet access. In doing so, they often face the challenge of supporting new and still maturing technologies. Interoperability testing and certification offers the quickest path to technology maturity allowing service providers to select that best equipment available based on its performance and functionality needs.

Calix is taking a leading role in G.fast interoperability and certification. As a Broadband Forum (BBF) Circle of Excellence winner, Martin Casey (Principal Systems Test Engineer) has played a critical role in the development of the BBF OD-335 G.fast interoperability test plan used in vendor-to-vendor interoperability events, known as “Plugfests." I had the opportunity to sit down with Martin and discuss G.fast interoperability. Get a behind-the-scenes look at what is going on at the Broadband Forum in our video interview.
