Consistently ranked among the best large companies to work for amid 21 percent workforce expansion in 2021, Calix takes four more Comparably Awards along with “Best Place to Work” from the Best in Biz Awards, underscoring the value of its longstanding work-from-anywhere culture and consistent accolades for chief executive officer Carl Russo
SAN JOSE, CA – December 21, 2021 – Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) today announced that it has received four workplace awards from Comparably for 2021. The leading culture and compensation monitoring site recognized Calix, which has a longstanding work-from-anywhere culture, as one of the top large companies (more than 500 team members) in its prestigious Best Places to Work Awards. Comparably named Calix a winner in the coveted end-of-year awards for Best Company Culture, Best CEO, Best Company for Women, and Best Company for Diversity. In addition to the Comparably awards, Calix was the recipient of the silver award in the “Best Place to Work – Medium Company” category in the 11th annual Best in Biz Awards earlier this month. These accolades cap a year in which Calix grew its workforce by 21 percent.
In the end-of-year awards, which honor the best workplaces of 2021, Comparably named Calix a winner in all four categories: Best Company Culture, Best CEO, Best Company for Women, and Best Company for Diversity.
While millions left their jobs during the “Great Resignation,” Calix continues to attract the best and brightest, growing the team by 21 percent in 2021. A major factor drawing team members to Calix is the outstanding culture, which Comparably recognized with a 2021 Best Company Culture award. Team members have consistently given overall Calix culture an A+ rating of 4.9/5 stars and the company won 2021 Comparably Awards for Best Compensation, Happiest Employees, and Best Perks & Benefits. Calix fully embraced a work-from-anywhere (WFA) culture in 2016, a factor that has become increasingly important to team members and candidates over the past two years. This enables Calix to hire top talent regardless of location, while building a strong and enduring company culture.
Calix encourages an open, diverse culture, centered on inclusivity and equality. Underscoring this, diverse team members at Calix have given the company an A+ rating, with Comparably ranking Calix in the top five percent of large companies for diversity. In the awards announced last week, Comparably recognized Calix with two honors, for Best Company for Women and Best Company for Diversity. With additional diversity initiatives coming in 2022, Calix has already established several internal and external programs to extend resources, foster community, and encourage development opportunities for women. These include the Women@Calix Community, a resource group for women working at Calix, and the Women in Telecom Summit, which was launched this year at Calix’s customer event, Calix ConneXions 2021, with the intention to build networks and explore the opportunities and challenges facing women leaders in the telecommunications industry.
For the second year in a row, Comparably named Calix Chairman and CEO Carl Russo one of the Best CEOs leading large companies. Serving as CEO since 2002, the visionary leader has steered Calix to new heights while navigating the business challenges of the continuing pandemic. Fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication, Russo has garnered an A+ rating on Comparably.com with an approval score of 95/100 from Calix team members, placing him in the top five percent of all CEOs.

Our entire leadership team is committed to our ever-improving culture, and the entire team is proud of these awards as it represents the culture that we have all built – together. We look forward to welcoming many new team members in 2022 who will help us improve and grow.”
