Some operators may require access for outside agency personnel into their Calix Cloud environment. For example, some BSPs use third-party resources to provide after-hours customer support. Typically, these users are not issued a BSP ID (email address within the BSP domain) and so would not otherwise associate to the BSP org.

If your company has third-party affiliates with users who must access your Calix Cloud instance, you must associate that third-party company to your (BSP) account with Calix so that these users may access your Calix Cloud org. Because Calix Cloud two-factor authentication requires that each user individually and uniquely authenticates, it makes the option for federated access option more appealing to org administrators.
