View and Configure Calix Cloud ACS Settings

From the Administration > ACS Configuration page, Organization Administrators can view and configure the following Calix Cloud auto configuration servers (ACS) Settings:

  • ACS Configuration for CPE (HTTPS, IPv4+IPv6): This URL is unique per organization and provided by Calix. It allows service providers to establish a bi-directional encrypted communication channel between Calix Cloud and the GigaCenters in their network.
    • You can update the username, if desired. Once updated, click Submit.
    • View the password by clicking the eye icon.
  • API for Web Clients: This URL is fixed and common for all customers. It allows you to work with the API with HTTPS (encryption only). For more information, see the API Catalog in the Calix DevPortal.
    • You can update the username, if desired. Once updated, click Submit.
    • View the password by clicking the eye icon.
  • Captive Portal: Subscribers can self-install GigaCenters if service providers have configured a Captive portal URL (which is configured on the GigaCenter on-discovery). The user is then redirected to the Captive Portal on any browser activity.

Configure the ACS URL with DHCP Option 43

Service providers can use DHCP Option 43 to configure Calix CPE with the Calix Cloud ACS URL. This option requires the configuration of vendor class identifiers (VCIs) on the DHCP server using either of two methods:

  1. DHCP Option 60: Create VCIs for Calix GigaSpire/GigaCenter system models.
    • Format: model.ONT.dslforum.org
    • Example for GigaSpire 7u10txg (GS5239XG): GS5239XG.ONT.dslforum.org
  2. Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) matching: Create VCIs for Calix OUIs. See this Quick Tip for a complete list.

For specific DHCP Option 43 configuration guidelines, see the documentation for your DHCP server distribution/operating system.
