Expanding Calix Cloud: Dan Bloch Joins Calix as VP of Global Cloud Solution Sales


As communications service providers focus on delivering the ultimate subscriber experience in order to grow their businesses, our Calix Cloud platform plays an essential role helping them to achieve that goal. With this focus in mind, we continue to invest in our team to bring the message of Calix Cloud to service providers around the world. Today, I am thrilled to introduce you to Dan Bloch, Calix vice president of global cloud solution sales. Dan and I recently sat down to learn a bit more about his background and mission here at Calix.

Mark: Welcome to Calix Dan. Tell me a little about yourself and your background prior to joining us.

Dan: I am a Swiss national and Canadian Citizen who has worked for small, medium, and large enterprises including Microsoft, Oracle, and now Calix. I have spent time in product management, project management, services, partner enablement, alliances, sales, and leadership. Over the last 5+ years, I have been leading cloud sales teams in different markets. I luckily found an amazing wife who has put up with me for the last 23 years, have two great kids who are really adults, and two dogs who keep our household busy.

Mark: Why did you join Calix and what role will you now be playing as part of the Calix team?

Dan: I joined Calix because it was an opportunity to bring my cloud experiences to help grow and lead this amazing Calix team to the next level, including expanding it globally. We are growing quickly, and our customers are depending on us to help them provide amazing experiences to their subscribers. Our cloud solutions in Marketing (Calix Marketing Cloud) and Support (Calix Support Cloud) are market differentiating and can help our customers serve their subscribers in deep and meaningful ways, improving the subscribers’ experience.

Mark: What are you most looking forward to in this new role?

Dan: Mostly, it’s about working with some amazing people, not just in the team that Stephen Eyre created and grew, but also across the entire Calix customer base. The “can-do” and collaborative attitude at Calix is infectious. The opportunity to be a part of something that is so market revolutionary and will continue to evolve at a rapid pace is really exciting. Participating in the exponential growth opportunity with great leaders like Skip Hirvela, Alan Lieff, and others to continue to evolve our product offerings and global strategy is an incredible prospect.

Mark: Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know.

Dan: Positive mental health is a significant passion of mine, and I spend time in my local community offering help and assistance to those that need it. I love traveling with my wife and kids as well. We have been to some great locations across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. When I have some time to myself, I love to sail and golf. I was once goaded by a co-worker into doing a half Ironman which left me with a taste for cycling, biking, and swimming (but no longer all at once!).

We are thrilled to have Dan join the Calix solutions sales team as we continue on with our mission to connect everyone and everything. Both he and I are looking forward to his interactions with our customers as he settles into his new role.
