Five Ways to Boost your Managed Wi-Fi Marketing Efforts

In my last post, I looked at what’s typically included in service provider Managed Wi-Fi. In this post, I want to focus on five ways you can boost your Managed Wi-Fi marketing efforts, including some more real examples from service providers.

1. Harness the power of video

Video continues to be one of the most effective tools available for marketers in any sector. According to Hubspot, 64 percent of users are more likely to buy a product online after watching a video about it. So consider developing some short videos to explain the benefits of Managed Wi-Fi to your customers. Some great examples of an educational videos have been developed by Consolidated Telcom in North Dakota and FTC in South Carolina.

Rhonda Fitterer, Marketing Manager at Consolidated, and Mark Birkholz, Director, Southern Markets at Arvig Communications will both be joining me for a panel discussion at the 56th Annual Telecom Operations Conference (TOC) & Showcase, taking place May 8–10, 2018 in Fargo, ND. We’ll be talking about many of the issues covered in this blog series. If you’re planning to attend the event, I hope to see you there!

2. Create a Managed Wi-Fi FAQ

Adding an FAQ page to your website is a simple and proven method for providing essential information on a specific topic in digestible chunks. Nemont, a service provider based in Northeastern Montana, has a good FAQ on their site that answers their customers’ basic questions about their Advanced Wi-Fi offer.

3. Blog about Wi-Fi

A regular blog with posts explaining key Wi-Fi concepts and benefits can also be a valuable addition to your Managed Wi-Fi marketing efforts. PTCI, a broadband and communications solution provider in Oklahoma, has a “Things to Know” section on its website that contains useful information about various technology-related issues, including Managed Wi-Fi.

4. Publish in print

Depending on your target audience, print publications can be a great way to reach certain customer segments. Triangle Communications, for example, publishes a bi-monthly glossy magazine that contains all kinds of fun and useful information for their customers. The most recent edition features an article on their Managed Wi-Fi service.

5. Leverage Calix educational Wi-Fi content

At Calix, we’ve created extensive educational resources that you can leverage in your own marketing efforts to help explain many aspects of Wi-Fi in straightforward terms. If you have a creative approach to marketing Managed Wi-Fi, I’d love to hear about it. Please feel free to start the discussion below.
