The Calix F5 GPON OLT is a fiber-to-the-premises optimized access platform. Designed to ITU-T, GPON G.984 standards, this platform easily supports T1 and TDM voice services while providing a smooth migration path to all-IP services. Taking a flexible yet integrated approach to delivering legacy and IP-based services, the F5 allows the service provider to deliver VOIP and TDM voice on a port-by-port basis; distribute IPTV as desired; and deliver up to 200 Mbps of data to each ONT. Field proven and GPON compliant, Calix OLTs are delivering ultra-broadband services to more subscribers throughout North America than any other GPON platform.

Integrated Network Interfaces

The Calix F5 OLT functions as the switch, aggregation, and interface point for the gigabit passive optical network and the core network. The F5 connects with data switches via Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and Class 5 switches through its integrated GR-303 voice gateway—which lessens the need for add-on equipment. The F5's high speed Gigabit Ethernet connections makes the OLT ideal for delivering IPTV and ultra-high speed data services.

Exceptional Capacity and Flexibility

A fully loaded Calix F5 OLT supports up to 32 PONs—with each PON serving up to 32 ONTs—for an OLT capacity of 1024 ONTs per shelf. This outstanding capacity combined with its compact size and fully hardened components makes the Calix F5 OLT an extremely flexible platform to deploy in both central offices and remote cabinets.
