APRIL 23, 2008, PETALUMA, CA—Calix today announced that it has appointed
Kelyn Brannon-Ahn as chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately.
Brannon-Ahn succeeds Michael Ashby, who is retiring after serving over five
years with the company. Brannon-Ahn brings to Calix strong experience in
accounting, finance, tax, legal, IT, and facilities. Ashby will remain on the Calix
board of directors and will continue to serve as an audit committee member.
"On behalf of everyone at Calix, I'd like to thank
Michael for his leadership over the past five years," said Carl Russo,
president and CEO of Calix. "Michael has been instrumental in stewarding
the company's finances through both organic growth and growth via acquisition.
We look forward to his continued involvement in our board and in the audit committee."
As Calix CFO, Brannon-Ahn will be responsible for executing
the company's financial strategy and will ensure that the company maintains the
same standard of public-company disciplines, procedures, and practices that the
executive team has put in place.
"Kelyn's experience and capabilities are a terrific fit for
Calix needs as we enter our next phase of growth," said Russo. "She has strong
leadership skills, understands how to build finance organizations that act in
close partnership with operating divisions, and is an excellent financial
strategist when it comes to corporate development and M&A. Kelyn also has
deep roots in public accounting and compliance and thus will be a tremendous
asset to our management team."
Brannon-Ahn,
a 20-year finance veteran, was most recently CFO of Calypso Technology.
Previously, she was CFO at Arzoon and CEO of Studio Systems Inc. (Creative
Planet). Prior to this, Kelyn was at Amazon.com, where she was chief accounting
officer, vice president of finance, and CFO of Amazon's international
division. She has also held senior finance positions at Sun Microsystems,
Lexmark International, and Ernst & Young, and is a Certified Public
Accountant. Brannon-Ahn holds a BA in political science from Murray State
University, Kentucky, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.
